The Ostthüringer Zeitung OTZ visited our company to find out about training opportunities at Thorey Textilveredelung GmbH. It also became clear that an internship can be a good introduction to a new apprenticeship. So-called long-term internships are also supported by the Thuringia East Employment Agency, as the concept has proven its worth: Most young people have also started an apprenticeship at the internship company after completing their internship.

"Companies and young people benefit from this, it's a good opportunity to get to know each other and try things out," says Managing Director Andreas Ludwig, who is delighted to be able to train future skilled workers for the company himself.

pro.vention is the first hybrid trade fair for infection control. Thanks to a very good hygiene concept, it was able to take place in Erfurt from 5 - 6 November 2020 despite the ongoing pandemic. Under the patronage of the Thuringian Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow, scientists, politicians and business representatives exchanged views on effective protective measures against COVID-19.

Thorey Textilveredelung GmbH was present. This is because we are now no longer just a contract supplier for the pre-treatment and finishing of transdermal plaster materials and bandages, but have developed our own product line for respiratory protection masks.

Photo: Thorey Gera TextilveredelungWe produce medical and civil respiratory masks for corona protection. Together with other companies from Thuringia we have worked on the development of a mask prototype according to FFP standard. Soon we will produce 5000 masks per day and shift in Gera.

It is planned to establish a three-shift system in a few weeks to cover the demand for protective masks. The Ministry of Economics supports the build-up of the production in order to avoid supply bottlenecks in the future and to be more independent from foreign companies.

In addition to FFP masks, simple face masks from the roll and reusable surgical masks will also be produced.

Visit us at the mtex 2018 in Chemnitz on May 29-30, 2018.

The mtex+ takes place every two years in Central Germany's industrial metropolis Chemnitz. 159 exhibitors from seven countries (in association with the LiMA lightweight construction trade fair) took part in the 7th edition in spring 2018. Of the approximately 1,000 trade visitors, 22 percent came from abroad.
